Chronic Reflux following Sleeve Gastrectomy

By June 10, 2019Uncategorized

15-20% of patients with pre-existing GERD experience worsening of symptoms following sleeve gastrectomy surgery.  Research also confirms GERD has been found to be induced in about 10% of patients who have no history of symptoms prior to surgery.  Converting the sleeve to a gastric bypass can eliminate this issue.  This is often referred to as a revision surgery.  Dr. Barnes is happy to discuss this with you and explore your options!
